Robin and I have been married since March of 1987, we have three wonderful children and a new granddaughter. We enjoy photography and have been dabbling with it for a few years. Robin and I recently finished a photography class at Sierra College. We have learned a great deal and look forward to learning more as we continue to pursue our interest. 2008.06.22 (Sun) - Day three of the Bell reunion and I got up early to go look for a good shot. I decided to run into Chester about five miles away. There was a layer of fog in the marshy area just outside of town. It was very beautiful, this shot barely does it justice.

After I returned, we had breakfast and hung out for the day. Jen, Brandon, Briana, and Robin played badminton for a while. Robin and I went out later for a seven mile bike ride though downtown Chester. Later that day we said goodbye to family members who had to take off for home.More photos from today!

2008.07.22 (Tue) - Jury duty is very interesting, I would love to share about it but I am not permitted to. I snuck home at lunch time so I could see Brandon and make sure he was okay since he was home alone. Returned to the courtroom wearing an extra layer, they keep it very cool in there. Sitting and listening all day makes for a long day, I will be glad when it is over.

Robin and I took off around 6PM to go see how the beavers have been progressing on the tree. I grabbed some shots of their work and sat in a pile of goose droppings while I was grabbing this shot. We returned home so that I could change and then headed out to our regular Tuesday night crew. We returned to the beavers around 9:15PM and sat quietly and watched them swimming for a while before taking off to get back to Brandon.

2008.06.05 (Thu) - Another very good day. At work we were treated to a BBQ, we had tables set up outside and we all spent the lunch hour hanging out. No shop talk, it was great.

After work I dashed home and we watched Peyton for about an hour, then Robin and I decided to go to Cafè of India for dinner. From there we were going to run over to my parents house to fix Dad's printer but we saw a small car show going on outside of Mels Drive-in and we couldn't pass up the chance to grab some photos. We didn't have the camera so we had to quickly run and grab it.

There were some very nice cars there, we spent some time chatting with one of the owners before we had to run off. We grabbed several shots, out of the ones I took I liked this one the best. (After some processing)

When we finished shooting the cars, we saw my parents, fixed the printer, hung out a bit, then headed home for the evening.

2008.06.27 (Fri) - Finally a Friday! I was on four wheels again today, met Bobby for lunch at Applebee's, Lunch was good, Bobby is the best friend.

After work I returned home and we watched Peyton until Kayla got off work. Peyton is walking everywhere now. We played "two little monkeys, jumpin' on the bed" and we got to laughing so loud, it was great.

Later, Robin and I took off to Rancho Cordova for a car show we heard about. I love the summer season, lots of car shows. It was still smokey from all the fires and the lighting was bad so I had to bump the ISO way up and the photos were a bit grainy but still nice. I don't know what kind of car this is but it looks very nice.

2008.06.23 (Mon) - Today started out quietly. I got up early, the sky was red from all the fires that were started by Saturday's storm. I walked down to the docks and grabbed this shot of the sun rising. After gabbing some more shots, I headed back to start the coffee.

We packed up camp, hugged Tom, Virginia, Crystal, and George and then headed back home. Well, back to work for me tomorrow, I had a great time on our vacation. I'll be posting more photos from the trip later.

2008.07.18 (Fri) - Biked in today, I wrapped up the Process Flows and Use Cases that were due by the end of day Monday. I got called up for jury duty and have to report at 9AM Monday so all my deliverables had to be completed today. The ride home was hot and I worked a bit late so I took Sunrise Blvd all the way home.... Bad idea, I may have saved 10 minutes but it would have been safer to take my usual route.

Got home, showered, changed, and took Brandon out to dinner. We went and checked on the "Beaver Tree". It is still standing and while we were there we got to see some of the beavers swimming in the wetlands that they have created, it was pretty neat.

We returned home and Brandon hopped on X-Box live and I started reading a new book I picked up. It is a book on C# business objects. The guys at work have decided that we are going to use CSLA for our business object archictecture so I am going to need to get familiar with it fairly quickly. A couple of chapters in and I realized I needed to grab my daily photo so I opted for this self portrait.

2008.07.03 (Thu) Well, it was a virutal Friday, biked in by 7, wrapped up my remaining use cases by 3:30 and took off to start my 3 day weekend! I got to watch Peyton for a bit until Kayla got off work, then waited while B biked Bri home but no one was there when they arrived. She did not have the keys so they had to come back. I grabbed the camera and figured the 3 of us could run over to Mel's and grab some car shots until her mom got home to let Bri in.

After grabbing this shot we ran to my parents and hung out with them for a while, then we left my parents and I pulled over to swapd spots with Brandon so he could get some practice driving stick. It finally clicked and he got the hang of it. I had him drive us out to Folsom to visit Robin for some more practice and then I realized we were not going to get Bri home on time. I decided to drive on the way back so we could make better time and we got Bri back by 10:01, I hope she didn't get in trouble.

Robin just arrived home, gotta run!

2008.07.06 (Sun) - Lazy day, skipped church this morning for a small mens book study, picked up B and Bri after their youth services. Robin was working so I took them to lunch at, where else, Taco Bell. After that we ran to Fry's to pick up some network and HDMI cables and returned home to hook up more equipment. B & Bri started a movie, I fell asleep. After we got up we hung out a while and then I took them both out to Cool River Pizza for dinner. Then we ran out to Folsom to see Robin. We did some grocery shopping and then headed home. After Robin got off we all watched a movie together. The movie was good (The Other Boleyn Daughter) but of course we knew how it was going to end. The cinematography was excellent, really looked good on the new HDTV.

After dropping Bri off at home I came home and needed to grab a shot. We have a small wooden box that we store the remotes in, it was polished and looked good in the room light so I grabbed this shot using my new bean bag "tripod" to steady the camera.

2008.06.07 (Sat) - Lazy day, Robin worked and I got a few honey doos done around the house. Brandon mowed the yard without being asked to, I checked but he wasn't running a fever so I think he's okay.

After Robin got home we thought about going for a bike ride but it was a bit too hot out so we went for a drive instead. We ended up out at Kayla and Chris's, Kayla was cooking (spaghetti) and we stayed for dinner, hung out, played with Peyton, then took off again.

After we got back the car was covered in dead bugs, we couldn't believe how many bugs were out. We ran to the carnival we visited last night and I grabbed some shots. I'll post more tomorrow, it's past my bedtime.

2008.07.11 (Fri) - Another good day at work, went to lunch with my friend Bobby then returned and wrapped up by 4:30 and headed home. On four wheels again so it took me a while to get home. Arrived in time to help assemble the new TV stand and then have dinner before running over to my parents to hang out with them and steal hugs from Peyton. After Kayla arrived to pick up the grandbaby, the four of us (Me, Robin, B, & Bri) headed up to Auburn for their second Friday cruise night. We ran into one the Sierra College photography professors (Rebecca) and had a nice chat before she had to run.

There were so many nice cars out, Brandon & Briana wandered around while Robin and I looked for my daily shot. We got some good photos but this was my favorite.

After grabbing the shot we wandered some more, took in the sounds of live music, grabbed some snacks and then headed back home so Brandon could finish moving all the AV equipment to the new TV stand and finish wiring it all up for us.

2008.05.22 (Thu) - Some days you just have to wonder... What's the point? Well, it's never as bad as we first make it out to be. Oh well, tomorrow is Friday and then a three day weekend, we'll see how things work out with the news we got today. Maybe I'll share more about it later.

2008.07.07 (Mon) - Ended up taking the day off today, wasn't feeling so great. We had Peyton in the evening, Kayla arrived to pick her up but stayed for a movie.

While the family watched their movie, I grabbed this shot of our beautiful Petyon.

2008.05.25 (Sun) - It was a good day, I started on a 60 mile bike ride to Old Sac but didn't make it all the way home because I forgot my lunch and my wallet. I called Robin and they were slow there so she was able to leave early. She picked me up at mile 49, whew, thanks sweetie for the rescue.

After we got home we relaxed by watching a movie (Cloverfield) with Kayla. Then we grabbed Peyton and we all went out for yogurt. Finally, Robin and I took off with the camera and drove though old Roseville where I grabbed this shot.

2008.07.20 (Sun) - Robin had to work early again, she woke me while getting ready to work and I got up about 5AM and decided to go look for my daily photo early. I drove out to where I work looking for something that didn't work out so I drove around until I spotted this building that looked very interesting in the morning light. I took several shots but I liked this one the best.

I returned home in time to take B & Bri to church, I skipped service and returned home to begin cleaning. We invited some new friends over for dinner so I spent the morning cleaning, mopping, waxing, and doing yardwork to prepare.

Robin got home around 3PM which didn't leave her much time to prepare, thank goodness they were on IST (India Stretchable Time), this gave us just enough time to have everything ready when they did arrive.

Bobby is a good friend of mine, we do lunch every Thursday. Today we were lucky enough to meet his wife Herlin and their children, Simr and Ungad. Robin prepared a great diner, Kayla and Peyton showed up and the kids all got to swim while we adults got to know each other a little better. It was nice having Bobby and his family over, they are such a nice family. I hope we can do it again soon.

Well, time for me to get to bed, I have jury duty tomorrow!

2008.05.27 (Tue) - Robin and I got home about the same time and it was such a nice day that we took off after dinner for a walk on the Miners Ravine Bike Trail.

The creeks were running high with all the recent rain and there were many different birds out. We saw wild turkeys, baby ducks, geese and many other smaller birds feeding on insects as the sun began to set. I shot a few good photos, Robin liked this one the best.

2008.07.05 (Sat) - Robin went in to work at 4AM, I had planned on going on a long bike ride but decided to sleep in and boy did I. I slept until 9:30 and then decided to get some work done around the house. Brandon helped me move the entertainment center into Jens old room and get the front room cleared out, cleaned, and ready for the new TV stand that should arrive next week. Brandon took care of wiring up all the AV equipment up to the new HD TV. I used to love doing that when I was his age but now I hate it, good thing he loves it. (He IS an audio tech now, lucky for me)

Robin got home around 2:40, we finished the movie we started the day before, "There Will Be Blood" was really bad even though I hear it won awards. After the movie we napped, then Robin and I ran off to hear a friend of mine who was speaking. After that we picked up Brandon at home and the three of us when to Sonic to try a Sonic milk shake, Robin heard that they make the best. The wait was long but it was well worth it. The shakes were great. We sat outside and listened to "Sonic Radio" and enjoyed our drinks before heading home for the night. This is not the best photo, I know, but I am ready for bed so this is it for the daily photo.

2008.06.13 (Fri) - Back on two wheels today, left late so I cruised straight down busy Sunrise to cut 2 miles off my commute and saved 10 minues. Got in early and wrapped up all my work by quitting time! I may have to pop into a meeting on Tuesday but other than that, I am off for 10 days!

The ride home was hot, we had Peyton and Robin and I took her swimming! She loved it more than we did. After Kayla got off work and took Peyton away I took off with my sweetie for a drive up to Auburn. There was a big car show so we had to park and walk up and down to look at all the beautiful restored cars.

I grabbed this shot before it got too late, I don't know what kind of car it is, but it was nice. Here are some more shots from the event. After grabbing our shot we walked back to the car, put the top down and I took Robin on the drive I took yesterday, on they bay back we hit a low flying bat.

It was a nice way to start my vacation, I rented a 10mm fisheye that will arrive Monday so I look forward to playing with it!

2008.07.21 (Mon) - Well, I showed up for jury duty hoping to get dismissed but it wasn't to be. It is a criminal case but should only take a week by the judges best estimate. I informed my employer, they didn't sound to happy to hear it. I can't talk about the case, but it does look like it will be interesting.

Chris dropped Peyton off at our place around 4:30, we watched her until Kayla got off about 6:30. We ordered dinner, then the four of us took off to look at the tree the beavers have been working on. They are almost all the way through, I expect they will have it downed by the weekend.

We hung out for a while hoping to get another glimse at the beaver family but they did not cooperate. Security came though and hassled B & Bri (couple of teens hanging out alone behind a business complex!!!) but they informed security that they were with us (They drove right past us without a question) and that we were over taking photographs of beavers. The kids said that the security guard seemed a bit skeptical, but he bought their story and left them alone.

We left and were still in need of a photo and Briana told us of a nice view of our city from her Grandma's neighborhood so we drove to Rocklin to grab this shot.

This was my first time shooting RAW, I didn't do any processing. The photo was ISO 1200 so it is fairly grainy. Not the best photo but it was a beautiful view.

2008.07.01 (Tue) - Biked in to work today, it was nice. At work I had to re-work a process flow and some use cases, still more to do but should be done by Thursday. I am looking forward to the holiday and the three day weekend. The ride home was hot, I worked up a sweat but it felt good. Robin had cooked a wonderful whole wheat lasagna, it was great.

After dinner Robin and I picked up Doreen and we ran off for a couple hours to meet up with our friends. When we pulled up I noticed some cattails growing near a small pond so I grabbed this shot before the meeting. Afterwards we dropped Doreen off at her place and returned to post the photo and get to bed. Sorry the photos is not the best, but it was all I had. I need to get out of my photo funk.

2008.06.19 (Thu) - Robin and I got busy getting prepared for her family reunion. The reunion is going to be at Lake Almanor so we had to get all our stuff down and clean it all up.

We took a break just before noon and ran to a very dear friends house for lunch. Bobby fixed us chicken curry, rice, some veggies, and then rice kheer. It was great. We had a nice visit, Bobby showed us some photos from his recent family trip to Disney World. They spent 6 days and got some great photos while they were there.

After lunch we headed home to continue packing. We stopped so I could shoot some flowers and then it was back home to finish packing. When we were done, we ate dinner and then ran out with the camera to find a car show in Folsom. We thought there was a small car show at the Red Robin but we were wrong. We drove around a bit and then ended up back in Roseville where we found a small car show at Mels again. We grabbed some more car shots and then went in to enjoy a carmel sunday and milk shake. It reminded me of when we were first dating 22 years ago!

Then we decided to go home but I did grab this shot of Mels on the way out. Robin sits patiently out front as I composed my shot.

I may not be able to post my photos for the next few days but as soon as I have internet access I will get my daily gallery caught up with highlight from our reunion. Have a great weekend!

2008.06.12 (Thu) - Got through work today, one more day and then I can rest for a week! Wasn't very green today, took 4 wheels to work, when I returned Robin was sleeping and B&B were watching a movie so I grabbed the camera bag and took off in the car.

I drove to Forrest Hill, decided to go all the way down to the river under the Forrest Hill Bridge hoping for a good shot but it was very hazy. I had fun racing up the winding road back up to Auburn and came out in old town. I stopped and walked around the old courthouse and grabbed this shot.

2008.05.28 (Wed) - I had a nice day today. The ride into work was a bit cool and windy with a head wind the whole way. My work day was productive, the ride home was nice, I had a tail wind all the way! I left work late and so arrived home later than usual.

I helped Robin set up for a nice dinner out back, she had cooked a wonderful meal, before eating I silently gave thanks for some answered prayers. (The point has become clearer)

I ran off after for a couple hours after dinner and returned feeling a bit blue. Then I learned that Peyton had taken her first steps while they were out car shopping. We got Robin out of bed and all cheered Peyton on while she showed off her new skill. What a nice end to my day.

After all the excitement, Kayla was putting Peyton down for the night and I grabbed this shot of one of the Magic Shoes!

2008.05.08 (Thu) - It was a good day, work was productive. At noon we had a small team lunch at Quizno's. I got hassled for eating my meal too quickly, Truth is they were all just slow eaters. I'll try and pace myself next time. After lunch we headed back to our meeting and we wrapped up a few minutes early. (I love it when that happens!)

Brandon was watching Peyton when I got home with his dinner. They got his order wrong so he didn't get a full meal but he'll survive. I took over watching Peyton, she had been fussing a bit before I arrived. I took her out back to take some photos and she had good fun. After shooting this photo, I let her splash her feet in the pool until her Mom arrived to pick her up.

Kayla and I shared about our days for a bit, Kayla caught me up on what is going on with the house they are buying and then she had to take off with Peyton. Brandon took off with Briana and I am left all alone until Robin gets off work late tonight. I haven't seen Jennifer for a while, I miss you Jen and hope things are well. Your father LOVES you! Swing by soon when you have time to chat and maybe I could get a good shot of you to post as my photo of the day.

My pop called from Australia, they arrived safely and he was having trouble getting into his mail. Dad, I hope you got in okay... Take care and email us soon.

2008.07.10 (Thu) - What a nice day! Work went well, Robin, B, & Bri stopped by to take me to lunch for my birthday. When I arrived home, all three of them were waiting for me along with Jennifer & Peyton! Kayla and my parents arrived a bit later and I opened my cards and gifts. The best gift of all was being with my family, sharing, laughing, and loving. I am very lucky to be blessed with such a wonderful family. I wish Chris and my Sis could have been there.

After everyone left, I had Robin grab the candles and a spare piece of cake so I could grab a B-day daily photo...

Peytons 1st B-Day : We celebrated Peyton's first birthday at Royer park on Saturday, April 5th. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to have a great time hanging our together on this special occaision. I must say that it was nice seeing both sides of Peyton's family together at one time. We enjoyed spending time together, of course we BBQ'd, we sang to the birthday girl (without paying the royalty), we enjoyed cake with Peyton (although not quite as much as she did), we socialized some more, and then watched Peyton open all the wonderful gifts that her guests brought. A big thank you goes out to all who showed up, we enjoyed having you all there. For everyone who wanted to make it but could not, enjoy the photos and we hope we can see you all next time. Thanks to everyone who helped plan the party, you made it a very special day for Peyton. Take care... Robin & Darron

2008.05.03 - Bell work weekend : Well, a bunch of us got together this weekend to help out with some much needed yard work at Tom and Virginia's house in Fernley Nevada. It was hard work but we all had a good time and got a bunch accomplished while we were there. The work began Friday afternoon when we started demolition of the side yard fence that had blown over in a recent storm. Next we dug post holes and sunk three new metal posts. Day 2 brought more fun with a roto-tilling party in the back yard that got out of hand and spread to the front yard. We installed a sprinkler line in the newly tilled back yard and then put a new roof on the back patio. We wrapped up day 2 by seeding the back yard and cleaning up the back patio and eating dinner together. We accomplished a lot in two days and we were glad that we could help. We had to take off late Saturday because Robin had to work the next morning. We hope day three was as productive!
