RandD > 2008.08.09 (Sat) - Had a good day, got up early and spent time with Tom and Virginia. Tom took an afternoon nap and the four of us ran out to the Fernley Raceway to meet Mike from work. He was there racing motorcycles with family. I shot some photos but they really didn't turn out. Turns out I am not much of an action photographer. I'll post the few good ones when I get home tomorrow. We were going to run to Reno but decided to return to Robin's dads to see if he was awake. He was so we hung out, ate dinner and then took off for Sparks later in the evening to shoot some cars. Parking was a nightmare, we finally got a spot but by the time we got to the cruise the light was no good. We got a few good shots before dark and then broke out the tripod. RandD > 2008.08.08 (Fri) - Went in late to work but in time to grab my doughnut. I took off at noon, ran home and packed for our trip to Fernley NV to see Robin's Dad and Virginia. We stopped to grab some car shots in Reno and then Sparks. We haven't been up to Reno for the Hot August Nights car show in a few years. It is a huge event, we hope to sneak out for a couple of hours on Saturday for some more shots. While in Sparks I grabbed this shot, very nice paint job on this custom Pontiac! RandD > 2008.08.07 (Thu) - Met with BAR today and got clarification on some final questions about the workflows and use cases for the project. Making progress on the software design documents. Not sure if we are going to move on to state transition diagrams or go directly into database design. Robin has another graveyard shift tonight so she was sleeping when I got home. B and I hung out until Kayla showed up with Peyton for a bit. We got to play with Peyton for a while, stole some hugs and kisses from both of them before they had to run. Brandon and I went to Togos for dinner and then ran over to Lorenzo's where they were having a motorcycle show in the parking lot. I guess they do it every Thursday. I'll have to go back next week but a bit earlier so we have better lighting. This was the best shot of the set, bumped up the exposure a bit, adjusted the contrast, and changed the color temp a little to help it as much as I could. Looks like it has a small SP as a bonus! RandD > 2008.08.06 (Wed) - Biked in today, work was okay. We wrapped up our review edits in time so I was able to leave on time. The ride home was brutal, very hot. I got home, showered and hung with the family. Decided to skip my mens study group. Tried another variation of the cd water drops, still not pleased. Maybe next time. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.08.05 (Tue) - Work was okay, Robin works a grave tonight so she was sleeping when I got home. Brought home dinner for B and I. Here is my last minute effort before running off to my usual Tuesday night hang out, hope you all had a good day. I'll get caught up on everyones daily photos in the next day or so. Take care, Darron
RandD > 2008.08.04 (Mon) - Had a busy day, we were supposed to meet with BAR today to get clarification on some use cases and workflows so I wanted to get to work early and decided to drive instead of biking in. The meeting didn't happen so I got to spend the day updating some of the other documents. All I could stand was eight hours so I left at four o'clock. Got home in time to help Robin watch Peyton. I took her out back to keep Peyton out of the way while Robin prepared dinner. I grabbed some photos of Peyton playing with the beach ball while we were out back. I liked this shot the best. Kayla arrived in time for dinner, she shared all about her camping trip. All in all it was a nice evening. Until tomorrow, -Darron
RandD > 2008.08.03 (Sun) - We were all off today, went to church in the morning and then picked up B & Bri after their youth services. We grabbed lunch, ate, and then Robin through out the idea of going into the big city for the day. Bri called her mom to make sure it was okay and we were off. We ended up at the Marin Headlands just under the Golden Gate and had a blast running around and exploring. It was windy but we got some good shots. I'll have to process the rest and post but I thought this was a good one for my daily. Looks like I need my sensor cleaned though. After the headlands, we ran into the city, drove though GG park, headed back out to Sausilito looking for a bite to eat but ended up waiting until Fairfield to grab dinner. (Sausilito was too pricey for this family) I've been driving all day and have to be up early so I'll post more from our trip this week. RandD > 2008.18.02 (Sat) - Robin worked today, Brandon slept in until the crack of noon. I took the car to get the brakes done, I expected the fronts were bad but the backs were worse. After dropping the car off I walked to office depot, picked up some things, grabbed breakfast and walked back home. The shop called when the car was done and I walked back to pick it up. Guess I won't be getting that SB-800 for a while! Got home and took B to lunch, then came back and hopped in the pool for a while. It was just me and the pool duck. Shot this photo before Robin returned home, we're going to run to Robin's moms and give some computer help and then grab some dinner. Nice lazy day... (for me anyway) -Darron
RandD > 2008.08.01 (Fri) - Biked to work, it was very nice on the way, pretty hot on the way home. Work was good, home was better. Very tired, Ran off with Robin looking for a photo for today. Stopped in Rocklin where Robin grew up and she showed me an old quarry she used to hang out at. It was cool but the lighting was bad. On the way out we stopped an a small park behind the old police station, there was a group of water fountains with a mother watching her son play and get wet. He was just giggling and running around having fun. It reminded me of what it was like to be young and care free. While there I shot the top of the taller fountain. Not the best photo but the best I have today. I'm very tired, my legs are weary and my sweetie is waiting for me. Good night, -Darron
