RandD > 2008.07.13 (Sun) - Robin had to be at work at 5AM again, Brandon and I rose at 7:30 and got ready for church. We picked up Bri and made it to the 8:15 service. After the main service I left B & Bri to their youth services and I ran home and grabbed the camera. I shot some photos of a nearby greenbelt and then picked the kids up about 11AM. We had to drop Bri back at her place around 2pm. Robin got home before 3PM, we napped for a while and then got up when Kayla arrived with Peyton. We all swam for a bit, then I got out to BBQ dinner while the girls played in the pool. I grabbed some shots of Kayla and Peyton playing while watching the burgers and dogs. After dinner, Kayla took off with Peyton and Robin helped me pick the daily photo. It was a nice relaxing day. I think I'll turn in early. Until tomorrrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.07.12 (Sat) - Wow, slept in late today, then got up and posted some comments on other daily photos. Boy, there are some great photographers in the Daily Photo community! Looking at everyones work keeps me very humble, I have a lot to learn! Robin had to be at work early, Brandon and I ran over to my parents to visit and fix his satellite cable that got clipped when he was trimming his ivy. After that we headed home and arrived just as Robin was returning from work. We watched a movie that Bri hadn't seen (The Patriot) and then the four of us headed to downtown Sac to hang out and shoot some photos. We walked around the capital building then cut over to K street mall and looked for some place to grab a bite to eat. I grabbed this shot as we walked toward towntown plaza. We left Sac and headed home, stopping at the new Jimboy's Tacos for dinner. While there we ran into Joe Heuvelhorst, a friend I used to work with at Intel. We all had a good chat, finished dinner and then headed home to post my photo. See you tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.07.11 (Fri) - Another good day at work, went to lunch with my friend Bobby then returned and wrapped up by 4:30 and headed home. On four wheels again so it took me a while to get home. Arrived in time to help assemble the new TV stand and then have dinner before running over to my parents to hang out with them and steal hugs from Peyton. After Kayla arrived to pick up the grandbaby, the four of us (Me, Robin, B, & Bri) headed up to Auburn for their second Friday cruise night. We ran into one the Sierra College photography professors (Rebecca) and had a nice chat before she had to run. There were so many nice cars out, Brandon & Briana wandered around while Robin and I looked for my daily shot. We got some good photos but this was my favorite. After grabbing the shot we wandered some more, took in the sounds of live music, grabbed some snacks and then headed back home so Brandon could finish moving all the AV equipment to the new TV stand and finish wiring it all up for us. RandD > 2008.07.10 (Thu) - What a nice day! Work went well, Robin, B, & Bri stopped by to take me to lunch for my birthday. When I arrived home, all three of them were waiting for me along with Jennifer & Peyton! Kayla and my parents arrived a bit later and I opened my cards and gifts. The best gift of all was being with my family, sharing, laughing, and loving. I am very lucky to be blessed with such a wonderful family. I wish Chris and my Sis could have been there. After everyone left, I had Robin grab the candles and a spare piece of cake so I could grab a B-day daily photo... Until tomorrow, -Darron
RandD > 2008.07.09 (Wed) - Up early and off to work on 4 wheels again. It was very smokey today and got much worse late in the day so I am really glad I drove. Wrapped things up about 4PM and headed home, traffic was a mess. Arrived home and hung out with Brandon. We made ham sandwitches for dinner and then watched S.W.A.T. together. After that, he hopped on X-Box live while I checked my email to see if John Murphy had got back to me with more about focus stacking, he had... I downloaded some software (CombineZM) and played around with it until I got somewhat familiar with it. I stacked 17 images of this model mustang to create todays daily photo. Thanks John for sharing with me, I will continue to play with it some more and see if I can make some improvements. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.07.08 (Tue) - Back to work today, nothing exciting. Rob was back from vacation so he shared a bit about his time away and then I got to catch him up on what he missed while he was gone. Peer review of use cases continue, should all be finished by Friday. The forecast was for 109 today so I drove the car, got home in time to order dinner so Robin didn't have to cook when she got home. Dropped Jen off at Round Table and then Robin and I picked up a friend and took her to our regular Tuesday night out with some friends. Dropped her back off at her place and then picked up B and Bri. Dropped Bri off at home and then the tree of us went to Honey Treat Yogurt for a cool healthy desert. Returned home and looked for a quickie for the daily photo. Went for a different angle on the remote box from the night before last. Also used a long exposure and a red LED to paint the front of the box but it looks too red. I need to get a white LED for this sort of thing. Sorry for the lack of imagination and effort but it was too late for this old grandfather. I'll try harder tomorrow. -Darron
RandD > 2008.07.07 (Mon) - Ended up taking the day off today, wasn't feeling so great. We had Peyton in the evening, Kayla arrived to pick her up but stayed for a movie. While the family watched their movie, I grabbed this shot of our beautiful Petyon. Good night, Darron
RandD > 2008.07.06 (Sun) - Lazy day, skipped church this morning for a small mens book study, picked up B and Bri after their youth services. Robin was working so I took them to lunch at, where else, Taco Bell. After that we ran to Fry's to pick up some network and HDMI cables and returned home to hook up more equipment. B & Bri started a movie, I fell asleep. After we got up we hung out a while and then I took them both out to Cool River Pizza for dinner. Then we ran out to Folsom to see Robin. We did some grocery shopping and then headed home. After Robin got off we all watched a movie together. The movie was good (The Other Boleyn Daughter) but of course we knew how it was going to end. The cinematography was excellent, really looked good on the new HDTV. After dropping Bri off at home I came home and needed to grab a shot. We have a small wooden box that we store the remotes in, it was polished and looked good in the room light so I grabbed this shot using my new bean bag "tripod" to steady the camera. RandD > 2008.07.05 (Sat) - Robin went in to work at 4AM, I had planned on going on a long bike ride but decided to sleep in and boy did I. I slept until 9:30 and then decided to get some work done around the house. Brandon helped me move the entertainment center into Jens old room and get the front room cleared out, cleaned, and ready for the new TV stand that should arrive next week. Brandon took care of wiring up all the AV equipment up to the new HD TV. I used to love doing that when I was his age but now I hate it, good thing he loves it. (He IS an audio tech now, lucky for me) Robin got home around 2:40, we finished the movie we started the day before, "There Will Be Blood" was really bad even though I hear it won awards. After the movie we napped, then Robin and I ran off to hear a friend of mine who was speaking. After that we picked up Brandon at home and the three of us when to Sonic to try a Sonic milk shake, Robin heard that they make the best. The wait was long but it was well worth it. The shakes were great. We sat outside and listened to "Sonic Radio" and enjoyed our drinks before heading home for the night. This is not the best photo, I know, but I am ready for bed so this is it for the daily photo. Good night, Darron
