RandD > 2008.06.16 (Mon) - What a nice day, Robin and I began the day with a 20 mile bike ride along the American River. We started at Hazel Avenue just below Nimbus Dam and rode 10 miles out to just past River Bend Park where we stopped and ate our packed brunch. After shooting some photos we rode back to the car, then drove to FedEx to pick up the Fisheye lens that I rented for our week off work!

After a nap, dinner, and a quick meeting with some friends, Robin and I grabbed Brandon and Brianna and we all took off with the camera gear to play around in Old Sacramento. We stopped for ice cream but the shop was closed so we walked across the street to the Chocolate Factory and grabbed some sweets! After that we walked over to the river where I grabbed this shot of the Delta King. We stayed out a bit late, check out some more of the photos we took while out tonight.

Take care, see you tomorrow!

RandD > 2008.06.15 (Sun) - What a nice Father's day, we went to the early service, then ran home where Robin fixed me her traditional Father's Day Eggs Bennedict. Simply amazing.

After breakfast we ran to home depot, then picked up B & B after the youth service and ran over to my parents to bring our cards and hang out with my Dad. They have their back yard looking very nice and I grabbed this shot of their water fountain.

We returned home to find Cory and Jennifer just pulling up. It was good to see them both, but especially Jennifer. They hung out for a bit and I got a nice Father's day hug and wish from Jen before they had to take off.

After that we ran to Black Angus for dinner, returned home for a movie "Jumper". What a great day.

Wishing all Dads out there a happy Father's day, I hope yours was as good as mine.

RandD > 2008.06.14 (Sat) - We had a nice day today, started with a 20 mile ride along the river to Discovery park where we stopped and ate our packed lunch. I left the Garmin at home so I didn't capture the data from our ride! I hate it when I forget the technology! The ride was nice, the time spent together was even better.

After the bike ride we ran to dinner with at my parents house. Chris, Kayla, Peyton, and Jennifer showed up and we all had a good time hanging out and the Shepards Pie was great!

After dinner we dropped Brandon off at home and Robin and I ran out to Sac for the 2nd Saturday Art walk. Then, on the way home we stopped so I could grab this shot.

Have a good night,

Darron
RandD > 2008.06.13 (Fri) - Back on two wheels today, left late so I cruised straight down busy Sunrise to cut 2 miles off my commute and saved 10 minues. Got in early and wrapped up all my work by quitting time! I may have to pop into a meeting on Tuesday but other than that, I am off for 10 days!

The ride home was hot, we had Peyton and Robin and I took her swimming! She loved it more than we did. After Kayla got off work and took Peyton away I took off with my sweetie for a drive up to Auburn. There was a big car show so we had to park and walk up and down to look at all the beautiful restored cars.

I grabbed this shot before it got too late, I don't know what kind of car it is, but it was nice. Here are some more shots from the event. After grabbing our shot we walked back to the car, put the top down and I took Robin on the drive I took yesterday, on they bay back we hit a low flying bat.

It was a nice way to start my vacation, I rented a 10mm fisheye that will arrive Monday so I look forward to playing with it!

Take care until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.06.12 (Thu) - Got through work today, one more day and then I can rest for a week! Wasn't very green today, took 4 wheels to work, when I returned Robin was sleeping and B&B were watching a movie so I grabbed the camera bag and took off in the car.

I drove to Forrest Hill, decided to go all the way down to the river under the Forrest Hill Bridge hoping for a good shot but it was very hazy. I had fun racing up the winding road back up to Auburn and came out in old town. I stopped and walked around the old courthouse and grabbed this shot.

See you tomorrow!

RandD > 2008.06.11 (Wed) - Uninspired today...
RandD > 2008.06.10 (Tue) - I had a good day at work, lots to do and stayed long but got it all done. VERY stiff wind on the ride home, when I arrived Robin was sleeping after her swing shift. She had to be back up at 9:00PM to go to work again so I tried not to wake her as I showered.

I took Brandon out for dinner then ran off to meet with a group of friends for a couple of hours. On the way home I saw some buildings that looked nice but when I got closer I changed my mind because I didn't have the tripod. I was about to head home when I spotted Piatti and wanted to grab a shot so I improvised, using the car as my tripod.

The last time I ate here I met with some very good friends for a goodbye dinner after I left Intel. It was good to get together. I don't really miss Intel much, but I sure do miss the good friends that I made.

RandD > 2008.06.09 (Tue) - Another Monday, the ride in today was nice. There was a huge Oak tree down right before the bridge in Fair Oaks. It is on a downhill that I usually take at about 32 mph! I had to come to a complete stop and maneuver my bike under a section of the fallen tree trunk in order to get though.

The ride home was very hot; I took a quick shower before dinner. Robin had an awesome meal prepared. It was chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon with risotto and broccoli. I love being the first to try out her new dishes, this one is my new favorite.

After dinner we went and saw my parents, then ran off to Honey Treat Yogurt for desert. Robin has to be up at 3:00 AM for work so I wanted to wrap up my daily shot and retire early with her. I spotted this pewter goblet that I picked up in Malaysia on a business trip. I was working at Intel at the time and we spent 6 weeks there helping to train the call center. We worked hard but we had fun too. Good times!

Gotta run,

RandD > 2008.06.08 (Sun) - Being a parent can be rough sometimes, you care so much for your children and want the best for them. You do your best to teach them, to mold them, to prepare them for the world. Even the best parents make mistakes, I certainly have. As our children approach adulthood, it becomes difficult to let go but eventually every parent must. When that time comes, the only thing to do is to trust God, that he loves them even more than you do and that he has the best plans for them.

We had a great day today, we celebrated my mother's birthday and we got to go see Jen and her band perform in the park. Here is a photo of her doing what she loves the most, praising our Lord with all her heart and soul. What more could I ask for? I love you Jennifer, more than you know. I am so very proud of you. Thank you for being my daughter, thank you for your love of God and Family. Your mother and I love and miss you!
