RandD > 2008.05.11 (Sun) - Brandon and I got up early this mornining before Robin got up and ran to the store to pick out some flowers and cards for Robin. We came home and both pitched in to make a big breakfast for her. She awoke to these flowers, our cards, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and english muffins. We are now off to begin our day together. We'll head off to church in a bit and then we plan to make this Mother's day of of the best ever.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, who is in Australia right now, to Robin, the mother of my children, and to my daughter Kayla, mother of my granddaughter.

To all mothers everywhere (and to you expecting mothers), God bless you all and have a wonderful day.

RandD > 2008.05.10 (Sat) - First thing this morning we all went out and did the "Race For the Cure". I ran the 5k and the rest of the family walked it. My 5k time was pretty bad (32.08) but at least I ran the whole thing without stopping. After I was done, I went back to the course and found the family and walked the rest of the way with them.

When we got home, Robin and Jennifer made truffles for Jens church while I took a nap. After that, Robin and I went to Costco and got some things and when we got home we took off for a walk around the neighborhood. While walking about I spotted some daisies and stopped to grab this shot.

Until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.05.09 (Fri) - Well, today marks a full three weeks of the "Photo of the Day" project. I must admit that trying to take and post a good photo every day is a challenge for me. I don't know how others do it. I get "photo block" some days and just can't seem to think of anything to shoot.

Robin and I drove around looking for something to shoot but I was not very motivated. My legs were tired, maybe from the 24 mile bicycle ride to work and back today, and I just didn't want to stay out so we came back home and I decided to try for a "studio" shot. I opened one of the drawers at my computer desk and found this old RAM stick and decided to see what I could do with it. Well, this is what I came up with.

Tomorrow we are getting up early to do the "Race for the Cure", I am running the 5k, Robin and the girls are all walking it. We are bringing the digicam so we'll see if I can't hit home run with tomorrows' POTD.

Good night all,

Darron
RandD > 2008.05.08 (Thu) - It was a good day, work was productive. At noon we had a small team lunch at Quizno's. I got hassled for eating my meal too quickly, Truth is they were all just slow eaters. I'll try and pace myself next time. After lunch we headed back to our meeting and we wrapped up a few minutes early. (I love it when that happens!)

Brandon was watching Peyton when I got home with his dinner. They got his order wrong so he didn't get a full meal but he'll survive. I took over watching Peyton, she had been fussing a bit before I arrived. I took her out back to take some photos and she had good fun. After shooting this photo, I let her splash her feet in the pool until her Mom arrived to pick her up.

Kayla and I shared about our days for a bit, Kayla caught me up on what is going on with the house they are buying and then she had to take off with Peyton. Brandon took off with Briana and I am left all alone until Robin gets off work late tonight. I haven't seen Jennifer for a while, I miss you Jen and hope things are well. Your father LOVES you! Swing by soon when you have time to chat and maybe I could get a good shot of you to post as my photo of the day.

My pop called from Australia, they arrived safely and he was having trouble getting into his mail. Dad, I hope you got in okay... Take care and email us soon.

Take care, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2008.05.07 (Wed) - It was a good day, filled with a couple of long meetings but they were productive. After work, I brought dinner home for Brandon and then we talked a bit about his day. After that we picked up Bri and I dropped them off at their Wednesday night youth group. On the way back home this building caught my eye and so I did a quick Uee and went back for the shot.

I am very tired, does someone want to volunteer to pick up the kids at 9:00? Oh well, maybe I'll set my alarm.

Take care,

Darron
RandD > 2008.05.06 (Tue) - Another long day, got into work at 6AM, ate lunch at my desk to get some more work done, then headed out in time for class. We grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading out.

It was the last day of our Photo 60A class and we were having a potluck so we showed up with some food and all our mounted prints. It was great to see all the great work done by our fellow classmates. It was also great to get feedback from everyone on our work. As we walked out after class we passed the library and I thought it looked nice all lit up so Robin and I grabbed the digital camera and walked back so I could grab this shot and finish our day.

I hope all our 60A students stay in touch, it was a great class and thanks Tom for teaching the class! We got so much out of it!

Check back tomorrow...
RandD > 2008.05.05 (Mon) - We didn't have any plans for Cinco de Mayo but we invited Jen, Kayla, and Peyton over for dinner. (Jen couldn't make it) We had Taco's and Burritos (of course) and enjoyed dinner in our back yard. The girls had a 'chick flick' and they wanted B and I to watch so I had to find something for the photo of the day. I spotted this cactus in the neighbor's yard and took several shots. This was the best one of the bunch. I'll put more effort in tomorrow. (last day of photography class so it will be a late one.)

Until tomorrow,
Darron
RandD > 2008.05.04 (Sun) - Well, when we can't think of anything to shoot we often head to our state Capital. I liked the way this building looked with the dark blue sky behind it.

Take care, see you tomorrow!

RandD > 2008.05.03 (Sat) - We arrived in Fernley Nevada Friday afternoon and pitched in with some yard work. Friday we set posts for a section of fence that fell down. Saturday we finished the fence, tilled the front and back yards, installed sprinkers, roofed a patio, and seeded the back yard.

Tom is always avoiding the camera and I got this shot of him while we were working on the fence. I knew the last thing he would want me to do would be for me to post this as my photo of the day so I couldn't resist doing it.

See you tomorrow,
Darron
